Meg Kingston "Writing the Science of Steampunk"

  • Where is the dividing line between feasible technology and fantasy magic?
  • Can readers tell if you’re making it up as you go along?
  • How do you follow the rules when there aren’t any rules?

In a fun and lively workshop, Meg Kingston will show writers of all levels how to address these issues and find their own answers. The group will look at the real science behind steam power, airships and clockwork devices as well as more fantastical devices involving brass goggles, breathing masks, time machines, zombies, and the mysterious aether.

You don’t need to be an Engineer to attend, but you must be ready to have a go at writing a little Steampunk!
